George Borovas teaches at the Department of Balkan Studies as a SSIP in Serbian language. Supervisor of the university teaching center of the Greek and Balkan languages.
He holds BA degrees in Teaching from the Yugoslavian teachers training college "Ivo Andric" in Vranje  and the Faculty of Education of the University of Western Macedonia, an MA in Economic and Political Governance at Southeast Europe from Department of Balkan studies of the University of Western Macedonia and a PhD candidacy at the same institution.
He is done his postgraduate studies with a scholarship from the Effietzoglou Foundation
He worked as an official interpreter translator of Serbo-Croatian language for the Greek government from 1996 until 2009.
In his research interests included nationalism, the relationship between language, nationalism, the formation of national identities and their role in the development of ethnic conflict and the role of culture as a deterrent by the ethnic conflict
